President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has charged his ministerial appointees to exhibit leadership that would focus on the progress of the country and increase the living standards of Ghanaians.
The President said the people of Ghana, had confidence in his government hence the opportunity to serve the people again.
I urge you to provide leadership that will ensure that the work which we are embarking on, benefits the progress of our nation and help raise the living standards of our people. That is why we are here and that is why the Ghanaian people voted for us, the president said.
President Akufo-Addo made this call at a swearing-in ceremony on Friday, 5th March 2021 at the Jubilee House, Accra.
The President sworn into office 28 of his 30 nominees for the various ministerial portfolios. Among the 28 Ministers, was the Minister for Railway Development, Mr. John Peter Amewu.
The President mentioned that he is poised that the new ministers will work together with him to ensure progress for the nation, stating that he has the assurance that together they will work to bring to fruition the vision of the mandate given to him by the good people of Ghana.
Mr. Amewu together with the other new ministers took the Oath of Allegiance, the Oath of a Minister and the Oath of Secrecy.
They were subsequently presented with their Instrument of Appointment, to symbolize their call to duty before signing the book of Oath.
The new Minister for Railway Development, Mr. John Peter Amewu is also a Member of Parliament for Hohoe Constituency who during his vetting underscored the need to ensure a major local content in railway construction.
